Emergencies
Call us immediately if your pet:
- has been in a road accident
- is struggling to breathe
- has collapsed or cannot stand
- has a swollen or bloated stomach
- may have eaten something poisonous – bring any packaging with you
- has an injured eye
- is trying to vomit but bringing nothing up
- has uncontrolled bleeding
- is having difficulty giving birth
If you are not sure whether it is an emergency, call anyway. We would always rather you rang.
During opening hours
Call us straight away on 01480 877430 if you think your pet needs urgent help, then come straight down to the practice. Calling ahead means we can prepare for your arrival and give you advice for the journey.
Please note: our phone line is live from 1st September, when we open.
Out of hours
When we are closed, our emergency service is provided by Cambridge Night Vet, based at Granta Veterinary Specialists in Linton – available throughout the night and at weekends.

If your pet requires ongoing treatment following an emergency visit, the Cambridge Night Vet team will work closely with us to ensure a seamless continuation of care. Their priority is to assess, stabilise and treat your pet during the emergency, helping them return to good health before transferring their care back to us for any necessary follow-up treatment.
